Shaheed Zia Shishu Park to open by June 2027

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Abdus Salam has expressed hope that Shaheed Zia Shishu Park in Shahbagh, Dhaka, will be opened to the public by 30 June 2027.

The DSCC administrator said initiatives had been taken to complete the remaining work on the park’s modernisation project as quickly as possible, adding that physical progress on the project currently stands at 30 per cent.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration of Pubali Bank PLC’s Shishu Park Branch at the park project site in Shahbagh on Sunday afternoon. The bank’s branch building has been newly constructed as part of the modernisation project.

Abdus Salam said, “After the current government took responsibility, initiatives were taken to complete the remaining work on the park as quickly as possible. Physical progress on the project currently stands at 30 per cent. An international tender has already been invited to purchase 15 state-of-the-art rides for children’s entertainment. These rides account for around 75 per cent of the entire project. I hope we will be able to present children with a modern park within the stipulated timeframe.”
