Orientation and Reception of Meritorious Students of Sonargaon University Held

In order to welcome the new students of Sonargaon University and honor the alumni, the ‘Orientation and Reception of Meritorious Students 2026’ was held at the Officers Club. In addition to introducing the new students of Sonargaon University to the new chapter of university life, 27 alumni from among the achievers of the Sonargaon University Alumni Association were honored.

The event was presided over by the Chairman and Founder of the Board of Trustees of Sonargaon University, Engineer Abdul Aziz, and the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, was present as the chief guest. Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, Professor of the Department of Environmental Science of Jahangirnagar University, Md. Jamal Uddin, Executive Member of the Board of Trustees of Sonargaon University Advocate Umme Salma, Advisor to the Board of Trustees Azizul Bari (Shipu) and Mir Abdul Alim. At that time, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Shamim Ara Hasan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Professor Bulbul Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Ekramul Islam, Deans of all departments, Heads of departments, teachers, all concerned officials and new students were present.

In the second part of the program, a pleasant cultural program was organized for the new students. In addition to welcoming the new students through various performances including dance, music, various cultural performances were organized to make their new journey of university life joyful and memorable.
