Bapparaj returns after year-long hiatus
Renowned actor Bapparaj, sons of legendary film actor Razzak has signed a new film titled ‘Gulshan-er Chameli’ after a long break from the big screen.
Gulshaner Chameli explores politics, the abuse of power and the darker realities concealed beneath the veneer of elite society.
“Gulshan-er Chameli” is directed by M D Iqbal and produced by Jahangir Sikder.
Speaking about Bapparaj’s involvement, director Mohammad Iqbal remarked that he did not want to reveal details about the character of Bapparaj at this stage.
However, he confirmed that the veteran actor was impressed by both the story and the role.
“I don’t want to talk about the character in detail right now. However, Bapparaj liked the story and the character, and he has agreed to do the work.
We are also happy that an experienced actor like him has joined the film,” he said.
The director added that the cast is being selected based on the demands of the story and its characters.
“We are choosing actors who are suitable for their respective characters. The role Bapparaj will play is important to the development of the story.
We believe that his experience and acting skills will enrich the character even further,” he said.
Pre-production work for “Gulshaner Chameli” is currently underway. According to the director, discussions with the artistes, location scouting and other preparations are in progress.
If everything goes according to plan, shooting is expected to begin next December.
The film’s mahurat ceremony was held at a hotel in the capital on the 2nd of this month, officially marking the beginning of its journey. Several well-known artistes from Bangladesh and Kolkata are expected to appear in the film.
Tollywood actress Madhumita Sarcar will be seen in Gulshaner Chameli, alongside Bapparaj. The cast also includes Azmeri Haque Badhan, Omar Sani, Misha Sawdagar, Rozina, Ashish Khandaker and several others.
