5 more die from Measles symptoms, 1,180 infected
Five more people have died in the country over the past 24 hours with symptoms of measles; three of them were from the Sylhet division. During the same period, 1,110 new cases of individuals exhibiting measles symptoms were reported. Additionally, 70 more people were confirmed to be infected with measles.
This information was disclosed on Friday (August 28) in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular report on the measles situation.
According to reports, 861 children have died with symptoms of measles since March 15. During the same period, 99 children died from confirmed measles. In total, the death toll from both suspected and confirmed measles stands at 960.
Since March 15, a total of 18,796 cases of measles have been detected in the country, including 70 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours.
Additionally, 1,110 people have exhibited symptoms of measles in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of patients showing measles symptoms since March 15 to 154,792.
According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services, 135,473 people have been hospitalized with measles symptoms during this period. Of these, 130,457 have recovered after treatment and been discharged.
