Cases cross 32,000

Bangladesh recorded 868 new dengue hospitalisations in the 24 hours to Thursday morning, pushing the number of reported cases this year to 32,248, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

No new dengue-related death was reported during the period, leaving the nationwide death toll at 88.
The latest figures show dengue transmission remains widespread across the country, with 2,083 patients currently hospitalised. So far this year, 30,077 patients have recovered and been discharged.

Dhaka division recorded the highest number of new admissions in the latest 24-hour period, with 316 patients. Of them, 68 were admitted in areas under Dhaka North City Corporation, 98 under Dhaka South City Corporation and 150 in other areas of the division.
