NRBC Bank, bKash partner to instant remittance transfers

NRBC Bank PLC and bKash Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate fast, secure and instant transfers of remittances sent by expatriate Bangladeshis.

The agreement was signed at NRBC Bank’s head office on Wednesday.
NRBC Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, and bKash Chief Commercial Officer Ali Ahmmed signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Under the agreement, expatriate Bangladeshis will be able to send remittances through NRBC Bank directly to the bKash accounts of recipients in Bangladesh.

The partnership will allow recipients to receive and use remittance funds more conveniently. It will also facilitate small-value remittance transfers through formal channels, contributing to broader financial inclusion in the country.

“The use of technology has made the payment ecosystem considerably easier and more secure,” Touhidul said.

“This partnership between NRBC Bank and bKash will encourage expatriate Bangladeshis to send remittances through formal channels and ensure their greater participation in the country’s formal economy,” he added.

NRBC Bank Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Mohammad Abdul Qaium Khan; Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer Md Shaheen Howlader; Head of International Division Hasnat Reza Mohibbul Alam; Chief Financial Officer Rasedul Islam, FCMA, FCA; Head of ICT Operations Division Md Razidul Islam; and Head of Treasury Division Kazi Zunaid Zaman attended the signing ceremony.
