Actress Ridi found dead in Bashundhara

Model and actress Ridhika Ridi was found dead at a residence in Dhaka’s Bashundhara Residential Area on Saturday morning, police said.

Bhatara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mazharul Islam confirmed that police were informed of the death and later went to the residence.

According to Sub-Inspector Md Waduud of Bhatara Police Station, Ridhika’s friends found her hanging from a ceiling fan in the morning. They brought her down and rushed her to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police later visited the residence, prepared an inquest report and sent the body to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The exact cause of her death has yet to be confirmed. Police said further details would be known following the autopsy and completion of the investigation.

Preliminary information gathered by police and accounts from family members suggest that Ridhika had an argument with a man during a video call shortly before her death. The man was described as her boyfriend. However, investigators have yet to establish whether the argument was directly connected to her death.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Alongside modelling, Ridhika appeared in several television dramas, including Ekhane Manush Bikroy Hoy, Bohurupi, Double Honeymoon and Sundori.
