24-hour gas shutdown hits Savar, Ashulia

Gas supply will remain suspended for 24 hours in several areas of Savar, Ashulia, Gazipur and Manikganj from Friday morning for pipeline relocation work under the Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway project.

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited said the suspension would continue until 8am on Saturday.

The disruption will affect all categories of gas consumers in areas from Ashulia Bazar to Baipayl on both sides of the road.

Dhaka EPZ, Malancha Power Plant, Beximco DRS (Beximco Industrial Complex), Kashimpur, Sardaganj, Haji Market, Sreepur, Chandra and Chandra intersection will also be affected.

Other affected areas include Nabinagar, Savar Town, Savar Cantonment, Ulail, Bank Town, Savar Radio Colony, Kalma, Dosaid, Kumkumari, Akran, Charabag, Bara Ashulia, Tongabari, Kathgara, Zirabo, Gazirchat, Nayapara and Dewan Idris Road and adjacent areas.

The suspension will also cover Nayarhat, Balibhadrapur, Palli Bidyut, Denderbar, Bhadaile, Latifpur, Manikganj and adjoining areas.

Titas Gas said gas pressure could remain low in surrounding areas during the period.
The company expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to consumers.
