Dhaka Bank launches Co-Branded Mastercard

Dhaka Bank PLC, in collaboration with North South University, launches the Dhaka Bank-NSU Co-Branded Mastercard Spark Prepaid Card to help students manage their educational and lifestyle expenses securely. Senior officials from Dhaka Bank, NSU Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Dhaka Bank MD Osman Ershad Faiz, and Mastercard representative Jubaer Hossain were present at the unveiling ceremony.

Dhaka Bank PLC, in collaboration with North South University (NSU), successfully hosted the Grand Finale of Dhaka Bank Presents MarXcellence 2026 Inter-University Digital Marketing Case Competition, alongside the launching ceremony of the Dhaka Bank-North South University Co-Branded Mastercard Spark Prepaid Card for the Youth.

The dual initiative brought together leading figures from Dhaka Bank, North South University and Mastercard, underscoring a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of young professionals, innovators and financially confident consumers, according to a media release.

The event was attended by Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC; Md. Mostaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director (DMD), Dhaka Bank PLC; and H.M. Mostafizur Rahman, Head of Retail Business, Dhaka Bank PLC, among other senior officials and distinguished guests.

Benajir Ahmed, Member, Board of Trustees, NSU Trust. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of North South University and Mastercard was represented by Jubaer Hossain – Lead-merchant & commerce along with other officials and representatives from the both organization.

The event marked the launch of Dhaka Bank-North South University Co-Branded Mastercard Spark Prepaid Card, designed exclusively for eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students of North South University.

The card has been introduced to encourage responsible financial habits while providing students with a secure and convenient solution for managing educational, digital and lifestyle-related expenses.

The Mastercard Spark Prepaid Card offers a range of lifestyle benefits across categories including travel, dining, education, fashion and technology, both in Bangladesh and internationally.

Cardholders can also access discounts and cashback offers across youth-focused categories, including online streaming platforms, entertainment, food delivery services and ride-sharing applications.

Speaking at the event, Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC, highlighted the importance of investing in young talent and creating opportunities that bridge academic learning with practical industry experience.

He emphasized Dhaka Bank’s commitment to supporting the aspirations of young Bangladeshis through initiatives that encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, financial awareness and professional development.
