Couple commits suicide in Sharankhola

A husband and wife, Kabir Hawladar (32) and Halima Begum (32), committed suicide by consuming poison in Sharankhola Upazila under Bagerhat district.

The incident took place in the village Rajoir within Khontakata Union under the Upazila in the early hours of Wednesday. The deceased Kabir Hawladar is the son of Abdul Majid Hawladar of the same village.

The unusual death of husband and wife has raised various questions among the locals. Some say that the husband and wife committed suicide by consuming poison at the same time after an argument on Wednesday night.Others say that the couple committed suicide due to debt.

In this regard, local said, Kabir Hawladar is a fisherman. They have two children.
However,he does not know why those commit this death in a drastic way.

Rokeya Khatun, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sharankhola Police Station said the bodies of husband and wife named Kabir Hawladar and Halima Begum have been recovered from Rajoir village.

Family sources say committing suicide by taking rice tablets. Police officials said that the bodies have been sent to Bagerhat morgue for autopsy. The exact cause of death will be known after autopsy report to be received.
