One drug peddler held in Mymensingh

Members of the 2nd Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested an alleged drug peddler with 600 grams of cannabisduring a special anti-narcotics drive in Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh on Friday evening.

The arrestee was identified as Md.Monju Mia, 35, son of Hasmat Ali alias Hasu Mia, a resident of Nayabari (Langulia) village under Bashati Union in Muktagachha. According to APBn pressrelease, the operation was conducted around 6:00 pm near the Langulia NayabariBypass intersection under Bashati Union, following a tip-off.

The drive was carried out by a teamfrom the Operation and Intelligence Wing of the 2nd APBn, led by SI (Unarmed) Md. Pikul Molla, under the overall supervision of Additional DIG Kutub Uddin,Commandant of the 2nd APBn. During a body search, the law enforcers recovered600 grams of cannabis wrapped in a white polythene bag inside a blue shoppingbag the suspect was carrying.
