CAAB completes 80pc of audit preparations

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has completed around 75 to 80 percent of its preparations for two major international aviation security audits by the United Kingdom’s Department for Transport (DFT) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), aiming to strengthen the country’s global aviation standing.

According to a CAAB press release on Sunday, the DFT audit will take place from July 14 to 17, assessing passenger and cargo security arrangements for UK-bound flights at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Osmani International Airport.

The ICAO Universal Security Audit Programme–Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA) is scheduled for October 26 to November 6, when ICAO experts will evaluate aviation security management and implementation at the CAAB headquarters and the two international airports.
