Man’s hanging body found at Banglamotor

Police have recovered the body of an unidentified man, approximately 28 years old, in the city’s Banglamotor area on Saturday.

The body was found hanging by a rope from a tree branch inside the abandoned house of Saiful Islam on Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue.

Shahbagh Police Station officials recovered the body and later sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shahidul Islam said police reached the spot after being alerted by local residents.

While the man’s identity has not yet been confirmed, a forensic team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently working to identify the body.

According to SI Shahidul, local accounts suggest the man was a vagabond. Preliminary police findings indicate she likely died by suicide at some point during the night.

However, the officer maintained that the exact cause of death would be determined upon receipt of the autopsy report.
