Govt waives NS1 test fees during dengue season

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday directed all government hospitals across the country to provide dengue NS1 tests free of charge until December 31, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen early diagnosis during the ongoing dengue season.

The directive was issued through an official notification, which said the decision aims to ensure free access to the NS1 diagnostic test for patients with suspected dengue infection.

The ministry instructed all government hospitals to offer the test without charge through the end of the year and asked the authorities concerned to take the necessary measures to implement the decision immediately.

The directive has been sent to the directors of medical college hospitals, civil surgeons, upazila health and family planning officers, and other relevant health officials across the country for information and prompt action.
