MTB launches digital student file portal for study abroad

Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) has launched “MTB Smart Student Banking,” a digital student file portal for Bangladeshi students pursuing higher education abroad, designed to simplify applications and payments.

The portal was launched on Thursday at MTB Centre, the bank’s corporate head office, at an event attended by Managing Director and CEO Syed Mahbubur Rahman and senior officials, according to the press release.

The bank described the platform as the first of its kind in the market, enabling students planning to study abroad to initiate their student file applications remotely.

Students can register through the portal, provide the required information, upload relevant documents, and track their application status digitally.

MTB said the initiative is expected to improve customer convenience and processing efficiency, reduce turnaround times, make documents easier to track and enhance transparency, while maintaining regulatory requirements and internal controls.
