



The Teachers’ Association of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) elected a new 13-member executive committee for the 2026-2027 term, with Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Haque Molla as President and Professor Dr. S. M. Mahfuz Alam General Secretary.
The election results were announced on Wednesday by Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Abedin, according to an official statement issued by the university.
Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Haque Molla is from the Department of Mathematics, while Professor Dr. S. M. Mahfuz Alam is from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE).
Professor Dr. Md. Mostakur Rahman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was elected Vice President, and Assistant Professor Md. Masud Parvez of the Department of Mathematics as Joint Secretary.
The other office-bearers are Assistant Professor Md. Touhiduzzaman of the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering as Treasurer, Assistant Professor Md. Mahidul Hasan of the Department of Mathematics as Cultural Secretary, Assistant Professor Sanjid-I-Elahi of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering as Sports Secretary, Assistant Professor Akramul Haque of the Institute of Water and Environment as Office Secretary, Lecturer Md. Sakib Salim of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering as Publicity Secretary, and Assistant Professor Dr. Umm Faojia Rahman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering as Women’s Affairs Secretary.
The three elected executive members are Professor Dr. Md. Shahab Uddin of the Department of Physics, Professor Dr. Forkan Sarkar of the Department of Textile Engineering, and Professor Dr. Md. Obaidur Rahman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Following the announcement of the results, newly elected President Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Haque Molla thanked the university’s teachers for their trust and support. He said the newly elected committee would work together to safeguard the interests of DUET teachers and contribute to their professional development and overall welfare during its 2026-2027 tenure.
