Safe migration seminar held in N’ganj

A special awareness session aimed at promoting skills development, professional training, and safe, legal overseas employment for aspiring migrant workers was held in Narayanganj on Tuesday.

The event was organised by the District Administration in collaboration with the District Employment and Manpower Office at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Room.

Speaking as the chief guest, Md Raihan Kabir, Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj, urged prospective migrants to avoid fraudulent middlemen, follow official procedures, obtain proper training, and migrate through legal channels.

He emphasised that skilled migration not only ensures the safety and well-being of workers abroad but also contributes significantly to the country’s remittance inflow.

The session was chaired by Sifat Uddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), who highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the district administration to promote safe migration and stressed the importance of raising public awareness.

Senior officials from the District Administration and the District Employment and Manpower Office, representatives of law enforcement agencies, and a large number of aspiring migrant workers attended the program.

Speakers encouraged participants to verify information through official sources and digital platforms before making any decisions regarding overseas employment, thereby ensuring a safe and lawful migration process.
