10 injured in Faridpur clash

At least 10 people were injured in a clash between residents of two villages in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Tuesday night over previous enmity and local dominance.

The clash took place in the Bhanga bus stand area between residents of Purba Sadardi and Hasamdia villages.

According to witnesses and police, the two groups engaged in intermittent clashes from around 8:00pm to 9:30pm.

Police rushed to the scene, fired teargas shells to bring the situation under control and deployed additional personnel to prevent further violence.

The injured received treatment at Bhanga Upazila Health Complex.
Locals claimed that one of the seriously injured victims sustained a bullet wound and remained in critical condition.

However, police could not immediately confirm the claim.
Several shops were also vandalised during the violence, according to local sources.
