Govt appoints 10 Chief Legal Aid Officers

The government on Wednesday appointed 10 members of the Bangladesh Judicial Service as Chief Legal Aid Officers in 10 districts to strengthen legal aid services at the district level.

The appointments were announced in a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division.
According to the notification, the postings were made in consultation with the Bangladesh Supreme Court.

All 10 appointees hold the rank of Joint District and Sessions Judge. Under the new postings, Monika Khan has been assigned to Cumilla, Ahmed Humayun Kabir to Faridpur, Md. Mustafizur Rahman to Satkhira, Laila Meher Banu to Moulvibazar, Mst. Shabnam Mustari to Rangpur, Farjana Hasanat to Mymensingh, Nazmun Nahar to Noakhali, ASM Emran to Rangamati, Ayesha Begum to Sylhet and Solaiman Kabir to Sunamganj.

The notification stated that the officers have been posted as Chief Legal Aid Officers in the respective districts following consultation with the apex court.
