Ahsan Habib made acting NBR chairman

Ahsan Habib, a member of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), has been appointed acting secretary of the Internal Resources Division (IRD) and acting chairman of the NBR.

He will succeed Abdur Rahman, the outgoing NBR chairman and IRD secretary.

Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on the appointment on Monday.

According to the notification, Ahsan Habib, who had been serving as NBR member for Tax Administration and Human Resource Management, has been given the new responsibilities.

In a separate gazette notification , the ministry said Abdur Rahman begins his post-retirement leave from Tuesday.
