Al-Arafah gets new head of BCMD

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has appointed Md Mizanur Rahman, known as Masum Mizan, as Head of the Brand Communication and Marketing Division.

Masum Mizan, a media, public relations and corporate communications professional, will lead the bank’s corporate branding, public relations, digital presence and modern marketing initiatives.
He joined Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC in 2013 as a Public Relations Officer.

Before joining the banking sector, he had around 14 years of experience in journalism, working with several national newspapers, including Naya Diganta, Amar Desh, Samakal, Manabkantha, Dakkhinanchal and Ajker Barta. He also continues to contribute as a freelance journalist.

Alongside his journalism career, Masum Mizan has held leadership positions in professional organisations.

He served two consecutive terms as Vice President of the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh and is the Founding President of the Barishal BM College Journalists’ Association.

He is also associated with various professional journalists’ organisations in Dhaka and Barishal, as well as several social and voluntary organisations, including the Red Crescent Society.

With experience in journalism, corporate communications, branding, media relations and digital communications, Masum Mizan has built a strong professional profile over his career.

He completed his secondary and higher secondary education at Barishal Zilla School and Government Barishal College, respectively. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Management from Barishal BM College.

In his new role, Masum Mizan will contribute to strengthening Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC’s brand image and stakeholder engagement.
