



Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon on Monday expressed profound grief over the death of Ekushey Padak-winning painter and eminent cultural personality Mustafa Monwar, describing his passing as an irreparable loss to Bangladesh’s art, culture and creative sphere.
In a condolence message, the minister said the country would forever remember Mustafa Monwar’s outstanding contributions to painting, children’s programmes, cultural development and the creative growth of the younger generation throughout his long career.
“His diverse creative works and ideals will forever inspire the art-loving people of the country and the future generations,” Swapon said.
The minister prayed for the eternal peace of Mustafa Monwar’s departed soul and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Mustafa Monwar passed away this morning at the age of 90 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital.
