



Bangladesh and Spain have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral relations during a courtesy meeting held in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Humaiun Kobir met with Gabriel María Cestiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, where both sides discussed ways to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in trade, investment, renewable energy, infrastructure development, tourism, agriculture, education, technology and skills development.
The Spanish Ambassador praised Bangladesh’s continued economic progress, improving investment climate and its strategic geographic position.
He expressed Spain’s interest in expanding engagement in key sectors, including manufacturing, renewable energy, infrastructure and technology, while also highlighting the importance of stronger private sector-to-private sector cooperation.
Humaiun Kobir welcomed increased Spanish investment in Bangladesh, describing the country as a stable and promising destination for foreign investors.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining a favourable and business-friendly environment for international partners.
Both sides expressed optimism about elevating Bangladesh-Spain relations to a new level and reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
