



Abdul Moyeen Khan, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has said that Zubaida Rahman is a remarkable woman illuminated by her own intellect and wisdom. He said Zubaida Rahman has been working tirelessly as a constant companion to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in building a knowledge-based society and nurturing a talented generation for nation-building.
Moyeen Khan made these remarks as chief guest at a seminar held on Thursday at the Mohakhali T&T Mohila College auditorium, organised to mark the birthday of Zubaida Rahman, Vice President of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation.
He noted that Zubaida Rahman herself does not favour grand or extravagant birthday celebrations, and that this simplicity was reflected in the day’s programme as well.
To mark the occasion, the Ziaur Rahman Foundation organised a series of activities throughout the day, including a Quran khatm, health check-ups for children, free distribution of medicine, food distribution among street children, and a tree-planting drive.
During the programme, Abdul Moyeen Khan, along with other guests, planted a Neem sapling on the college grounds. He also inaugurated the health check-up programme arranged for street children.
The seminar was also attended by Ziaur Rahman Foundation director Dr. Shah Muhammad Aman Ullah, BNP’s Assistant Secretary for Health Affairs Parvez Reza Kankan, Foundation director and agriculturist Mahbubul Haque Bachchu, engineer Zahirul Islam, engineer Umasha Umayun Chowdhury, and journalist Hafiz Al Asad Saeed Khan.
Also present were Jubo Dal’s Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Galib Hasan, Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) Joint Secretary General Dr. Faruk Ahmed, DAB’s Law Affairs Secretary Dr. M.R. Hasan, DAB’s Joint Publicity Secretary Dr. Ikramul Islam Sourav, and Dr. Mehedi Hasan.
Dr. Tanzim Rubayed Afif, Acting General Secretary of the Chhatra Dal unit at a government medical college, and Ziaur Rahman Foundation member Mahmudul Hasan also attended the event. Teachers and students from three women’s colleges in the capital took part in the programme as well.
