



Assistive devices were distributed among persons with disabilities in Kaunia Upazila of Rangpur with the aim of enhancing their mobility, communication, and independent living capabilities.
The distribution programme was held at 11:00 am on Monday (June 15, 2026) on the premises of Kursha Union Parishad No. 3 in Kaunia Upazila under the implementation of Gram Bikash Kendra (GBK) and the Pathways to Prosperity for Extremely Poor People (PPEPP-EU) project, which is being implemented in collaboration with the European Union and the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).
Chairman of Kursha Union Parishad No. 3, Md. Abdul Majid, attended the event as the chief guest. Among others present were Jamaat Union Secretary Md. Rabiul Islam, civil society representative Md. Fazlul Haque, Dr. Md. Shamsur Rahman, Project Coordinator Md. Ziaur Rahman, Technical Officer (Community Mobilization) Md. Mahfuz Alam, Assistant Technical Officer (Nutrition) Benazir Laila, and Israt Jahan.
At the event, a total of 18 persons with disabilities from Kursha Union of Kaunia Upazila and Alambiditar Union of Gangachara Upazila received assistive devices to promote self-reliance and social inclusion. The devices distributed included four wheelchairs, 11 hearing aids, one pair of crutches, and two walking canes.
Project stakeholders said that various activities are being implemented under the PPEPP-EU project to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged and extremely poor communities, enhance the capacities of persons with disabilities, and help build an inclusive society.
