



Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has said that improved drainage management has helped prevent major waterlogging in the city despite heavy and continuous rainfall.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain inspected various areas of Chattogram city on Saturday despite continuous rainfall.
He visited important roads, canals, and waterlogging-prone areas and issued necessary instructions to concerned officials to ensure the effectiveness of the drainage system.
During the inspection, Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said that utmost importance is being given to ensuring that rainwater does not accumulate anywhere, so that the normal life of city residents remains uninterrupted.
He added that CCC cleanliness and engineering department staff are working round the clock in the field, and necessary measures have been taken to keep the flow of canals, drains, and sewers normal.
He directed concerned officials to regularly monitor waterlogging-prone areas, quickly remove obstacles, and take immediate action if any blockage occurs in the drainage system.
He further said that CCC is working continuously to resolve waterlogging issues.
Positive changes have already been observed as a result of canal restoration, drainage system development, and regular cleaning activities. These efforts will continue to further reduce the suffering of city dwellers in the future.
Senior officials, engineers, and representatives of the concerned CCC departments were present during the inspection.
