Rice distributed from PM’s relief fund in Bakerganj

Rice was distributed as food aid under the Prime Minister’s relief and welfare fund among the helpless and distressed people in Bakerganj, Barisal.

The rice distribution program was organised by the Bakerganj municipality BNP on the Bakerganj Municipality premises on Saturday.

Barisal-6 (Bakerganj) MP and freedom fighter Abul Hossain Khan was present as the chief guest on the program.

The program organised under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Milton Chandra Pal was attended by Bakerganj Municipality BNP President Nasir Jomaddar, General Secretary Shahabuddin Talukder Shahin, Municipal Jubo Dal Convener Ataur Rahman Roman, Municipal Sramik Dal President Abdul Khalek Howlader, Sheikh Mahmudur Rahman Rimon, Firoz Howlader, Obaidul Islam Mahi and local political and social figures.

At this time, rice was distributed at the rate of 10 kg per person among 300 poor and low-income people of the municipality.

In his speech as the chief guest, Abul Hossain Khan said, “The government is implementing various social security and assistance programs for the welfare of the backward and helpless people of the society. In continuation of this, this food assistance program is being run under the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund.”

Local administration officials, political leaders, public representatives and beneficiaries were present at the program. The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the delivery of food aid to needy families and expressed gratitude to those concerned.
