A new skills development initiative aimed at expanding overseas employment opportunities and strengthening women’s empowerment is set to be introduced by Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP), which will provide Japanese language training to its female members.
Under the initiative, a 90-day Japanese Language Training Programme (N-5) will be launched in the 2026-2027 fiscal year. The course is designed to enhance language proficiency and create wider access to international job markets for women members.
The training will run from July 5 to October 2 across 13 centres nationwide. These include the Ansar-VDP Academy in Gazipur, VTC Nawabganj in Dhaka, and 11 district commandant offices located in Faridpur, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Thakurgaon, Kushtia, Chattogram, Feni, Naogaon, Habiganj, Chandpur and Cox’s Bazar. A total of 520 trainees will be enrolled in the programme, with 40 participants selected from each centre. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications through the AVMIS app after meeting the necessary qualifications. Applicants must be aged between 18 and 27 years and must have at least an SSC or equivalent qualification.
Officials have stated that the initiative is expected to play a significant role in opening new avenues for overseas employment, improving language skills, and enhancing self-reliance among female members. They further noted that it will strengthen the organisation’s capacity in developing skilled human resources and promoting women’s economic empowerment.
