Accountability vital for global stability: Speaker
Lasting global stability cannot be achieved without accountability in the evolving world order, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad said on Wednesday.
Addressing the closing session of a two-day international conference, he also highlighted the importance of developing new leadership amid rapid technological advancement.
The conference, titled “National Security in South Asia in the Context of the New World Order,” was organised by the Bangladesh University of Professionals Centre for Future Studies and focused on regional security, multipolarity, energy security, migration, misinformation and regional cooperation.
Hafiz Uddin said national security depends not only on internal strength but also on knowledge, wisdom and stable international borders.
The event brought together regional and international experts who exchanged views and presented research-based analyses on emerging regional and global security challenges.
Among the keynote speakers were Pramod Jaiswal of Nepal, Subashini Abeyasinghe of Sri Lanka, Salma Malik of Pakistan, and Greg Simons of Sweden.
The Speaker thanked the university authorities, including Vice Chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-Ul Alam, and the organisers associated with the event.
Deans of different faculties, senior officials, teachers, researchers, students and invited guests were present at the programme.
