Prof Almujaddade named DU pro-VC

University of Dhaka has appointed Mohammed Almujaddade Alfasane, Professor of the Botany Department, as the university’s pro-vice chancellor (administration).

The Ministry of Education announced the appointment on Thursday, stating that it was approved by the president in his capacity as the university chancellor under the Dhaka University Order, 1973.

According to the order, Prof Alfasane will serve a four-year term from the date of joining and receive salary, allowances, and other benefits in line with university rules.

He will also be required to reside on campus and carry out duties assigned under the university’s statutes and by the vice-chancellor.

The order also noted that the president and chancellor may revoke the appointment if necessary.
