UGC Chair stresses teacher capacity building

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed said enhancing the professional capacity of new university teachers is essential to improve the quality of higher education and ensure world-class education in the country.

“Modern training can ensure the quality of teachers, which will directly bring positive changes in classroom management and the teaching-learning process of students,” he said.

The chairman made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the 3rd and 4th batches of basic training for new teachers held last night at the Central Training and Conference Centre of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), said a press release on Monday, reports BSS.
