PM visits the BADC stall at Tangail agricultural fair

The government is set to implement a series of phased initiatives in the agriculture sector aimed at supporting farmers and strengthening rural economies.

The Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman inaugurated the pre-piloting programme titled “Krishak Card” (Farmer Card) distribution on Tuesday, in Tangail.

A two-day Agricultural Fair 2026 was organised at the Tangail Municipal Park on April 14-15.

At the fair, stalls from various organisations, including the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), were set up.

The Prime Minister visited the BADC stall, where she closely observed the diversity, usage, and technologies of agricultural inputs. She also praised BADC’s use of technology in agricultural development.

During the visit, the Prime Minister’s Political Advisor Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Agriculture Minister Mohammad Aminur Rashid, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Members of Parliament, the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, and other concerned officials were present.

Under the thoughtful planning, supervision, and skilled guidance of BADC Chairman Md. Azizul Islam, and through the collective efforts of officials from all relevant wings, BADC’s exhibition at the fair was successfully completed.
