Colourful Baishakh celebrations at KUET

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) is set to celebrate the Bangla New Year 1433 with a colourful lineup of events across its campus on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

Organiszed by the university’s Directorate of Student Welfare, the daylong festivities will begin at 8:00am with a traditional Boishakhi Mela at the central field, continuing until 7:00pm.

At 9:00am, a “Hundred Voices” musical ensemble will perform a New year eve concert at the auditorium premises.

This will be followed by a vibrant Boishakhi Shobhajatra at 10:00am, which will start from the Student Welfare Centre and parade through key campus roads.

Alongside the fair, the university grounds will host a range of traditional and recreational attractions, including Baul music, magic shows, treasure hunts, cockfights, circus performances, and the iconic Nagordola, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Bengal.

A cultural programme will also be staged from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at a temporary platform in the field, featuring performances by students and artists.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Masud is expected to attend the function, while the overall arrangements will be coordinated by the Directorate of Student Welf.
