Listen to MPs’ concerns, take notes accordingly

Deputy Speaker Kaisar Kamal has urged ministers to attentively listen to issues raised by members of parliament and take notes when necessary during parliamentary sessions.

He made the remarks on Friday (April 10) while presiding over a session of the Jatiya Sangsad, in response to discussions by lawmakers from both the treasury and opposition benches.

The Deputy Speaker noted that MPs often raise important issues concerning their constituencies, but many ministers fail to pay proper attention or record those concerns, leading to frustration among lawmakers.

“To strengthen parliamentary democracy, mutual respect and accountability must be ensured. Whether from the treasury bench or the opposition, listening to all voices is essential for addressing public issues effectively,” he said.

He added that such small initiatives by ministers could play a significant role in accelerating development activities at the grassroots level.
