Singer Sadi, actress Mahi in drama together

Singer Sheikh Sadi, famed for the song ‘Lolona’, has entered the acting profession. He acted for the first time in a solo drama titled ‘Shohorer Notun Otithi’. Samira Khan Mahi acted opposite him.

The drama was written by Rashidur Rahman.

The story and direction were by Goutam Koiri. Sheikh Sadi played the role of Himel in the drama and Mahi played the role of Mahira.

Regarding acting in the drama, Sheikh Sadi said, “I had received an offer to act before. I had started working on a movie. But then I didn’t feel ready.

So, I withdrew. Now I have prepared myself for acting. Besides, I liked the story and character of this drama.

So, I acted. If the audience likes it, I might act again but not regularly, it may be on special days, on special occasions.”

He did not want to share the story of the drama right away. He wants to keep it as a surprise for the audience.

Talking about his acting experience, Sheikh Sadi said, “Since this is my first drama, I was a little nervous at first.

However, after starting the work, with the sincere support of my co-star Mahi, director Goutam Koiri and everyone, it didn’t take long for my nervousness to subside.

I acted for the first time, and I feel very good, without a doubt. I already know Mahi well. She is my good friend. So, the work has become easy for me.”

Actress Samira Khan Mahi is currently in the United States with her elder sister Mili. She has announced that she will return to the country on April 12.

After returning home, she is scheduled to shoot for a few dramas with Niloy Alamgir and Mushfiq R Farhan. Regarding acting with Sadi, Mahi said, “Sadi did very well in this drama.

I really liked her when she was acting in the first scene. She did not make any mistakes in the dialogues, and her acting was also fluent. I told Sadi to act at least on special days.”

The drama was shot two months ago in Uttara, Dhaka and Golapgram in Birulia, Savar. The drama was released on the YouTube channel Big City Drama on April 8.
