CCCI elections scheduled for april 4 postponed

The elections of the centenary trade organisation The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), which were to be held on Saturday (April 4), have been postponed.

The matter was informed in a press release sent by the chamber’s joint secretary NurulAbsar Chowdhury. It said that the election board of The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has issued a notification postponing the voting activities of the chamber to be held on April 4.

In a notification signed by the chairman of the election board, Monowara Begum on Thursday (April 2), it was stated that ‘as per the notification published in memorandum number 05.42.2000.011.99.015.25.144 dated March 3, 2026, the voting activities scheduled for April 4, 2026 have been postponed due to unavoidable reasons.’ The election date was also fixed on November 1.

Two strong panels submitted nomination papers and also campaigned. After that, the election date was changed several times due to lawsuits, writs, and legal complications. The Election Board finally announced the election date on April 4.
