Cricket Tasmania: Rishad named BBL Player of the Year

Rishad Hossain, who gave an extraordinary performance, received a special recognition. This Bangladeshi leg-spinner has been selected as Cricket Tasmania’s Player of the Year.

It officially announced Rishad’s name on Wednesday. He won this recognition, leaving behind Nathan Ellis, Chris Jordan and Nikhil Chowdhury.

Cricket Tasmania basically has given awards in various categories in recognition of performance with bat and ball in the 2025-26 season of the Big Bash League (BBL) of Australia.

Explaining Rishad’s nomination as the best of the year, Cricket Tasmania wrote on their website, “Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has had a great season in his first year in the purple jersey.”

Rishad was in great rhythm with the ball in the last Big Bash League. This leggie took a total of 15 wickets at an economy of 7.82. And Rishad spent 20.86 runs per wicket. His best bowling figure was 3 wickets for 26 runs.
