Cricketers start training ahead of busy Int’l schedule
The Bangladesh cricketers began the training to prepare them for the busy International cricket schedule.
Bangladesh will play a number of matches across all three formats in this year, starting with the white-ball home series against New Zealand.
The Black Caps will arrive in Bangladesh on April 13 for three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals.
Following the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation 37 players joined the national team’s camp in Mirpur on Friday.
Players of all three formats showed up apart from the six players– Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Parvez Hossain Emon, Rishad Hossain, Nahid Rana and Tanzid Hasan Tamim– who are currently busy with Pakistan Super League (PSL).
All-rounders SM Meherob Hasan and Abdul Gaffar Saqlain from the High Performance Unit along with domestic regular Ruyel Miah and Mosaddek Hossain, who has not played for Bangladesh since 2022, were also present.
However, the Test players will remain in the camp till April 16 before leaving for the first-class competition Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), starting on April 21. White-ball players will remain in the camp till April 13.
The ODI squad will kick-start a three-match home series against New Zealand on April 17 in Dhaka.
The T20I squad, meanwhile, will have a separate camp for the three-match T20I series against the Kiwis, which will begin on April 27.
