3 APBn recovers 102 lost mobile phones
The Cyber Crime Unit of the Operations and Intelligence Branch of 3rd Armed Police Battalion (APBn), Khulna, recovered 102 lost mobile phones and Tk 71,610 allegedly lost in bKash fraud cases in August.
The unit operates in areas under the jurisdiction of 3 APBn and handles cases involving illegal arms, drugs, lost mobile phones, and Facebook and online fraud.
The recovery drive was carried out under the direction of 3 APBn Commander Additional DIG M M Salahuddin, with the direct supervision of Deputy Commander Police Superintendent G M Abul Kalam Azad, PPM; Additional Superintendent of Police Yasin Ali; and Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Ali Nawaz.
The 102 mobile phones were recovered from different parts of the country based on general diary (GD) entries filed at various police stations regarding lost phones.
The unit also recovered Tk 71,610 in connection with a bKash fraud case and rescued a victim based on a GD.
Today, the commander handed over the recovered mobile phones and money to their rightful owners.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Additional DIG M M Salahuddin said the unit would be able to provide legal assistance to more victims if it received greater cooperation and positive responses from the public.
He urged members of the public to report incidents of online fraud and lost mobile phones to the police so that necessary action can be taken.
