PM rings New Nation Editor with Eid greetings

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman personally extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to Md. Mokarram Hossain, Editor of The New Nation, along with two other senior journalists, Ekushey Padak recipient Shafik Rehman and Anis Alamgir on 21 March.

The Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary, Mostafa Zulfiquar Hasan (Hasan Shiplu), confirmed that the calls included both festive greetings and enquiries about the journalists’ well-being.

Md. Mokarram Hossain, former managing editor of BSS, said he was pleasantly surprised by the Prime Minister’s call, which included enquiries about
his health and warm Eid greetings.

“It was a thoughtful gesture from the Prime Minister, and I was delighted to receive his call on this special occasion,” he added.

Similarly, Anis Alamgir noted that he received a call around 7 pm, during which the Prime Minister extended Eid greetings to him and his wife while asking after their health.
