Govt appoints administrators to 42 district councils
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party government has appointed new administrators to 42 district councils across the country, continuing its recent reshuffle of local government bodies.
Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Md Zahidul Islam Rony said the appointments were made on Sunday.
The move follows the government’s earlier decision to place administrators in 11 city corporations, reports bdnews24.com.
During the tenure of the interim government, administrators had also been appointed to district councils.
On Aug 19, 2024, administrators were installed in all district councils except the three in the Chattogram Hill Tracts.
The BNP government earlier appointed party leaders as administrators to the 11 city corporations in two phases on Feb 13 and Mar 14.
