US envoy pledges continued partnership with Bangladesh

United States Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen on Monday met newly appointed Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and expressed optimism about advancing bilateral cooperation.

Following the meeting, the US envoy in a post on social media platform Facebook and X congratulated Dr Rahman on assuming office and underscored Washington’s commitment to deepening engagement with Dhaka.

“Congratulations to Khalilur Rahman on his new role as Minister of Foreign Affairs. So pleased to continue working together to make both of our countries safer, stronger, and more prosperous,” Ambassador Christensen said.

Since assuming office, the US envoy is focusing on strengthening ties in key areas, including security cooperation, economic engagement, and regional stability.

The exchange comes at a time when both countries are seeking to broaden collaboration across multiple sectors, with an emphasis on shared interests and long-term partnership.
