Post-election arson in Bagerhat

Out of post-election violence a tin shed dwelling house belonging to Jubo Dal leader Alimuzzaman Rana of village Mandra within Bisnupur Union Parishad under Bagerhat (Bagerhat and Kachua Upazilas)-2 Constituency at Sunday mid night when miscreants set fire on it and fled away, according to a delayed report received here.

On information a fire Service Unit rushed to the spot from Bagerhat district headquarters. But before that the tin shed dwelling house was almost completely gutted with its all belongings including valuables and cash. The loss of fire is estimated at Tk.10 lakh.

Barrister Shaeikh Md. Zakir Hossain, defeated BNP nominated MP candidate of the constituency (Bagerhat-2) and other BNP leaders claimed that Jamat activists set the fire on the dwelling house. Following the incident a tense situation has prevailing in the Bisnupur Union.
