Lahore Qalandars recruit Mustafiz

Sports Reporter :

Lahore Qalandars have recruited Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL). PSL is a franchise based T20 tournament. The PSL will start on March 26 and will come to an end on May 3. Lahore Qalandars have directly included Mustafizur Rahman in their squad for Pakistani Rupees 6 crore and 44 lakh. Lahore Qalandars already retained Pakistani pace Shaheen Shah Afridi, batter Abdullah Shafique, Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza, Bangladeshi prolific batter Mohammad Naeem.
It may be mentioned that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) recruited world sensation Mustafizur Rahman for Indian Premier League (IPL). But later KKR dropped Mustafizur Rahman from their squad as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) created pressure to KKR to leave Mustafizur Rahman. After that Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) boycotted the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Later, ICC tried to change BCB’s decision but BCB did not change their position. Mustafizur Rahman was the talk of the country for this period.
KKR recruited Mustafizur Rahman for Indian Rupees nine crore and 20 lakh.
A total of eight teams will take part in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars owner Samin Rana said, “Mustafiz is not just a player; he is a brother to our family, an important part of us who has never left us.”
“We are delighted to welcome him back to our dressing room. His talent, experience and dedication will be invaluable to us as we look to defend our title and make a strong mark.”
It noteworthy that despite being selected twice, Mustafiz only played in the PSL in 2018. He took 4 wickets in 5 matches wearing Lahore jersey.
