I have no godfather in the industry

Popular Indian actress Mimi Chakraborty recently spoke openly about her career, remuneration, and the film industry. She made it clear that she is not willing to compromise on the quality of her work, nor does she want to act for low pay.

Mimi said, “I have definitely become much more diplomatic than before, that’s true, but my habit of speaking the truth directly has not changed. That’s why many people don’t approach me for work, because I don’t bargain when it comes to my fees. I give 100 percent dedication to my work, so why should I compromise on my remuneration?”

At the beginning of her career, Mimi created a huge buzz by playing the character ‘Pupe’ in Rituparno Ghosh’s television series ‘Gaaner Opare’. When asked why she was not seen in similar roles afterward, Mimi became quite emotional.
She added, “I have accepted the fact that I don’t have a boyfriend, godfather, or elder brother in the industry who owns a production house. So no

one will write a story especially keeping me in mind. I choose my work from the offers that come my way.”
