Terrorist attack on journos vehicle, injured 12

A terrorist attack has taken place on a vehicle belonging to the Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) in front of Dream Holiday Park, Madhavadi, Narsingdi, over non-payment of extortion.

Twelve journalists have been injured in the incident, it has been reported. The attack occurred during the Crab’s annual picnic on Monday (January 26).

According to eyewitnesses and police sources, the CRAB members had gone to Dream Holiday Park in Narsingdi to attend an annual picnic. On their way back, some local terrorists demanded extortion from the vehicle carrying them in front of the park.

When the journalists protested, the terrorists attacked them with domestic weapons. Later, upon receiving information, the police quickly arrived at the scene. Seriously injured journalists were taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital under police guard. The injured include journalists Shahed, Faiz Ahmed, Mohsin, Sakhawat Kausar and crab staff Lal. They received first aid at various local clinics.

Madhabdi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamal Hossain confirmed the incident and said that upon receiving the information, the police quickly reached the spot, brought the situation under control, and arrested the two terrorists involved in the attack and brought them to the police station.
