SPSC holds Annual Sports Meet

The Annual Sports Meet 2026 of South Point School and College (SPSC) , Banani campus was held recently, in a colorful and festive atmosphere.
Monimun Nahar, Member of the Governing Body of South Point School & College, inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest. In her inaugural speech, she encouraged students to actively participate in sports and co-curricular activities alongside academics, emphasizing that such involvement helps students discover their true potential, build self-confidence, and develop enthusiasm and motivation, says a press release. She also highlighted the importance of sports in ensuring both physical and mental well-being, advising students not to overemphasize winning or losing.
The program was presided over by the Principal of the institution, Colonel Dr. E. M. Morshed Alam (Retd.).
From early morning, students gathered on the field wearing vibrant and diverse sports attire to showcase their skills. Well-decorated student parade teams stood ready for the march-past, along with athletes from various groups prepared for different competitions.

At 10:30 am, the Chief Guest and Special Guests took their seats amid bugle calls and floral greetings. The event formally began with recitation from the Holy Qur’an followed by the national anthem. With the permission of the Chair, the Parade Commander led a disciplined march-past in harmony with the band. This was followed by several attractive display performances presented by the students.

During the speech segment, the Chief Guest Mrs. MonimunNahar and the Special Guest Mrs. Enamun Nahar, Member of Engineer M. A. Rashid Foundation, delivered inspiring speeches, extending their best wishes to the participants. In his presidential address, Colonel Dr. E. M. Morshed Alam (Retd.) expressed heartfelt thanks to all attendees and elaborated on the vital role of sports in maintaining physical and mental fitness as well as in shaping one’s career and overall life.

The day-long event featured various track and field competitions categorized by class and age groups, along with entertaining events such as “Dress as You Like.” Special sports segments were also arranged for guardians and invited guests.

Jahangir AlamTalukder, PSC (Retd.), Principal of Uttara Campus; Lieutenant Colonel Md. Jahangir Alam (Retd.), Principal of MirpurCampus; Nazmul Haque Sikder, Principal of ShyampurCampus; Chief Financial Officer Md. Sakhawat Ulla; along with teachers, officers, and staff members of the institution.
