Pori Moni, Chanchal to pair up for silver screen
Entertainment Report :
Actor Chanchal Chowdhury and Dhallywood’s glamorous actress Pori Moni are going to pair up on the silver screen for the first time.
The much-talked-about pair will be seen in a film based on Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless short story ‘Shasti’.
The film will be directed by Lisa Gazi. The makers will officially announce the film on Monday.
The makers have reimagined the story in modern language and contemporary reality, keeping the context of Rabindranath Tagore’s original story intact.
This is not a mere reworking, but a bold attempt to present the old narrative on screen with a modern perspective.
According to director Lisa Gazi, the main theme of this film is the position of women in society, moral crisis and changing values over time.
In particular, how ‘silence’ can be the most powerful protest against injustice and betrayal of trust, will be portrayed on celluloid.
It is worth mentioning that in 2004, talented director Chashi Nazrul Islam made the movie ‘Shasti’ based on the same story of Rabindranath Tagore.
At that time, the acting of the pair of Riaz and Purnima was widely praised.
After a long 22 years, the familiar story is coming to the screen again in a new format and with the chemistry of a new pair.
This big-budget film, a joint effort of multiple production houses, has already created a lot of curiosity in the film community.
Movie lovers are now waiting to watch a new ‘Shasti’ movie with the combination of Chanchal Chowdhury’s acting skills and Pori Moni’s screen presence.
