Every year, the music scene revives in the winter season. During this time, music events are organised in cities and villages.

Artistes spend their busy times in these concerts organised indoors and outdoors.

The audience also gets the opportunity to enjoy the performances of their favourite artistes and bands face to face.

However, the number of concerts has decreased significantly this winter season.

Many concerts were canceled late last year due to security concerns, as the administration did not grant permission.

These concerts were supposed to feature local artistes and bands as well as foreign artistes.

Last month, Nagar Baul James went to sing at a school reunion in Faridpur. However, he had to return without singing after being attacked by outsiders.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about outdoor concerts.

In this situation, an outdoor concert titled ‘Song of the Fog’ is being organised in Dhaka.

The concert is organised by Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and ‘Spirits of July’ at the central playground of Dhaka University on January 17.

Covered in the winter fog, the event will be graced by four bands – ‘Chirkutt’, ‘Avash’, ‘Ashes’ and ‘Krishnapaksha’, said a press release.

‘Krishnapaksha’ will take the stage at 6:00pm, ‘Avash’ at 7:00pm, ‘Chirkutt’ at 8:00pm, and ‘Ashes’ will perform from 9:30pm. The event will end with songs of band ‘Ashes’.

The organisers said that ‘Song of the Fog’ is a humanitarian and charity concert.

The concert has been organised to raise funds for the distribution of winter clothes among the helpless and cold-stricken people due to the severity of the winter.

Earlier, another charity concert titled ‘Sure Bona Sweater’ was organised for the cold-stricken people at TSC ground on January 11.
