BNP expels Rumin, Nirob

BNP expelled nine people, including Rumin Farhana and Nirob for running for parliament in defiance of the party’s decision.
This information was announced in a press release signed on Tuesday evening by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
The expelled leaders are Barrister Rumin Farhana, Assistant International Affairs Secretary of the National Executive Committee, National Executive Committee members Muhammad Gias Uddin, Mohammad Shah Alam, Hasan Mamun and Abdul Khalek, Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Welfare Front Secretary General and former Chhatra Dal Vice President Tarun Dey, former Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Saiful Alam Nirob, Sylhet District BNP Vice President Mamunur Rashid (CUCSU Mamun) and Brahmanbaria District Bancharampur Upazila BNP President Krishibid Mehedi Hasan Palash.
The press release said that they were expelled from all levels of BNP, including primary members, for conducting organizational activities in violation of the party’s decision.
Including these leaders, more than 250 leaders of different levels of BNP have submitted their nomination papers to participate in the February elections without receiving the party’s nomination.
Monday was the last day for filing nominations for the 13th parliamentary election. The party expelled these nine people the next day. That morning, party chairperson Khaleda Zia died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
